Hey ya'll! I hope you're all having a great summer so far. Sorry for the lack of updates. Due to certain situations, the site will now (for now) only be updated when Landon or Mark have anything urgent to send out. So here's todays:
For Tuesday, July Fourth, there will be no rehersal. That rehersal will be switched to July 9th. It will still be from the same time (9am to 5pm). That day, tenors will be exempt, but basses and snares are still required. Pit will still have normal rehersal unless instructed otherwise by Mark.
Basses, there is the possibility of a sectional on Saturday, July 10th. Time is yet to be announced. Contact Lafe for further information.
One last thing, I am still missing quite a few birthdays, mainly from freshmen. Please, if you do not see your birthday up here, email me or let me know in person.

Just a quick update.
The site has been updated to the right birthdays, new birthdays, new music, and a new banner (made by myself with Caleb's approval). Also, there is a new poll question. I hope everyone participates so I can get some feedback on the site.

Just a few quick updates for today:
The Winterline DVD order forms have an official due date of Wednesday, May 24. You may turn them in to either Mrs. D in the office or Landon.
A short message from Mark to pit:
I just wanted to shoot a quick reminder about the Frontline Startup session on Wednesday night @ 6:00pm in the band room. Everybody interested in frontline for the fall should attend. Please help spread the word as my email list is not that extensive.
It will be an open house style (very relaxed) and we will cover some basic
frontline playing concepts. Music and mallets will be provided but please
come prepared ("equipped") with a pencil, three ring binder and plastic
sheet protectors. We will be playing a bunch.
Any questions? - please ask me.
(see a few updates below or the contact section for emails!)
Have a great day!

DCI Show Opportunity!
So there is a sweet DCI show going on in Kalamazoo on July 15. Samm (from Ferndale) and I are trying to get some people together to get the group rate. But we need at least twenty five (25) people for the group rate. The plan is to carpool from all over, and meet at Waldo Stadium around 4 that day (that we can all sit together for the group rate and what not). Here are some details:
Tickets are:
$63.50* Club Seats
$33.50* Areas BB CC DD EE FF
$28.50* Area D
$21.50* Areas A B C E F G
*All non-group tickets have a $3.50 service charge.
So here's the group ticket deal, and please be interested, because the more people that come the more fun it will be.
Group tickets are for areas A B C E F G and are $15.50. That saves you $6.
The only catch: we will need your money by June 1st. Samm is ordering the tickets and she leaves for Europe on the 9th. The plan was to give one big check to DCI, order the tickets, and by the time she came back, the tickets would be there. We would meet at the stadium (she will have the tickets) and everyone will get theirs.
For a seating chart and that night's line up, go here.
As far as transportation, we will be carpooling big time, so that means everyone will have to donate a couple of bucks to whoever their driver is (it will more than likely be fellow drumline kids driving, unless we can get some parents interested). But we will get that straightend out once things are more set.
Please contact me anyway that the contact information provides if you are seriously interested.

Happy May!
Just for kicks, I've added a little poll to the birthdays sections (which has been creatively changed to "Birthdays and Polls"). Hopefully, people will participate in the poll action that way I can receive better feed back without it cluttering my inbox. So please check back once in a while for new questions throughout the season.

Hello Percussionists,
It is time again to begin preparations for the Reeths-Puffer Marching Band 2006 Percussion Section.
The batterie will begin on Wednesday, May 3 and rehearse from 6 to 9. ALL freshman percussionists are required to attend. This session is intended to acquaint all incoming freshman with the batterie experience. Upper classmen are not required to attend this session unless they desire to play an instrument other than what they played in their last season of participation with Reeths-Puffer Percussion (whether Winter Line or Fall Line). Anyone who did not play in the Winter Line is encouraged to attend.
Please come equipped with sticks/mallets, a pencil, and a 3 ring binder with plastic sheet protectors.
We will hold formal “placement sessions” on Wednesday, May 10 and 17. ALL batterie candidates are required to be in attendance. It is the goal of the staff to have the line set by May 24. We may take till May 31 to set the line.
Frontline rehearsals will begin Wednesday, May 17 and go from 6 to 9 in the HS band room.
Wednesday rehearsals will continue till the end of the school year.
Summer rehearsals will be Tuesdays from 9 am to 5 pm beginning June 13. Summer rehearsal attendance is mandatory. Absences due to “out of town” family vacations should be submitted in writing and cleared with Mr. Hodson.

Attention!!!
Anyone who had intended to attend the workshop on the twenty-sixth (26th) of April, don not go! It has been officially canceled by Landon.
Speaking of Landon, the next time you see him, bug him for a piece of paper that he will be handing out.
Also, the following pages have been updated:
- Rehersal page (includes the workshops and placement sessions).
- recommended music page (feature Dan Stephen's and Caleb Richard's music! Now in alphabetical order!).
- Meida page (new links).
- The Contact section (at the bottom of this page).
Coming Soon!
Lately, a lot of people have been using a program called TabIt which is a program that allows one to tab out their guitar music, and one can change it to different instruments, and it plays a midi of it back. Recently, I've gotten several e-mails from people sending their original music asking to put it on the website. I would be glad to do so, but only if you all promise to check it out. The problem is that it would involve a lot of bandwidth and a lot of space on my computer. So, it's vote time!
If there was an original music page created, would you visit frequently and listen to it? Please e-mail or instant message me with your answers!
And, in case you've gotten this far without noticing, the site's colors and layout has been changed.

I hope everyone had a nice Easter and got lots of candy!
I've been working hard at getting everyone's music selections up, and I've got a good portion of it. Now I need more birthdays. I missing a lot of people's (mostly upcoming freshman and next year's juniors), so if you know anybody's at all, please e-mail them to me.
Landon is supposed to get me a drumline schedule, but I've been told that workshops will start sometime fairly soon (I think we're looking at May). So make sure your chops are up and you're ready to go!
I've added a new section (again). It's going to contain all of the 'old' updates that you see on this page. I want to keep it to two on this page, otherwise it will get very cluttered. So if you miss something that you once saw here, it's over there.
Have a good one!

The site's "Media and Links" section has been updated, and a new "Staff" page has been added! A cool hit counter has been added to the main page also (it's supposed to be an equalizer, for those who don't know
)
Also, I'm trying really hard to get everyone's birthdays together. Please let me know in some way, shape, or form of your birthday or someone else's in the drumline's.
As the winterline season came to an emotional end this past Sunday, Reeths-Puffer ended up taking fourth place out of nine with a score of 83.3. Congratulations to everyone who participated and thanks to everyone for a wonderful season! Our only senior, Tony Smith, experienced his first and last winter drumline season and he will be remembered and dearly missed. Good luck in the future, Tony! We'll always be here.
As for everyone else.. 3 weeks until marhing band!
Keep checking back for updates on Marching Band and possible sound clips!

First Update!
The first update consists of how this years winterline is doing.
This years show was called 'No Absolute Time' which has a crazy concept that only drummers will understand from watching it. This show has been getting some mad coverage from judges and other line instructors. It has been suggested that every drummer see this show and has been getting some awesome reviews. This is Reeths-Puffers second year in MCGC and is expecting many more to follow.
For this years fall show, the marching bands theme is 'Good 'n' Evil' which contrasts good and evil (quite bluntly). The line up for the fall is rumored to be 4 snares, 4 tenors, and 6 basses. So let's start recruiting and training and make this one of the best shows ever!
